The Bridge Construction Report chest is under Braelyn Bridge, inside the middle pillar. Go to the north side of the pillar's base in the Shroud, then use a pickaxe to break through the rubble. Searching the bridge deck will leave you above the actual objective.
The community wiki's quest entry confirms the north-side rubble at the bottom of the middle pillar. Bring a pickaxe and leave enough Shroud time to reach the base, dig and get out again.
Start the Carpenter's treasure search
Read the lore note Spectacular Progress Is Being Made, then speak to the Carpenter to discover the quest. Its objective appears as Search The Braelyn Bridge Pillars.
The Carpenter's clue points to a treasure hidden inside the middlemost pillar as his trademark. The task is to expose and open that chest; it does not require dismantling the bridge or clearing every pillar.
Reach the base of Braelyn Bridge
Braelyn Bridge lies north of the starting area and crosses a Shroud-filled chasm. Once you reach the bridge, choose an approach that gets you down to the ground beneath it.
Two approaches are described in the illustrated pillar walkthrough:
- Approach through the Shroud underneath the bridge. This lets you navigate toward the pillar from ground level.
- Cross the bridge and descend from the other side. You still need to end at the pillar's base, rather than continue searching the upper walkway.
Neither route avoids entering the Shroud. The quest does not demand a particular jump, so use a safe descent and keep an exit route in mind rather than treating one photographed approach as the only solution.
Identify the middle pillar's north face
The map reference shows two prominent support shapes: a longer shape and a rounder one. The walkthrough marks the treasure at the round pillar, on its northern side. Use that image to identify the support, then inspect it at ground level.
- Reach the base of the middle pillar under the bridge.
- Move around to its north side.
- Turn to face south, looking into the pillar.
- Find the pile of rubble blocking a small opening at the bottom.
The marked map position is a horizontal guide. It does not mean the chest is on the bridge surface at that spot. If the marker seems correct but you can only see the road and railings, descend beneath the span before searching again.
Break the rubble and open the chest
Use your pickaxe on the loose rubble at the opening. Keep clearing until the passage into the pillar is exposed, then go inside and open the chest.
Focus on the blocked entrance rather than striking intact bridge masonry at random. The chest is concealed behind the rubble; moving between the tops of different pillars does not reveal it.
The quest entry lists a Gold Chest and 75 XP. The older walkthrough describes the chest's contents as random, so this is a treasure-search objective rather than a guaranteed source of a particular named weapon.
If you cannot see the entrance, recheck three details: under the bridge, middle pillar, north side at the bottom. If Shroud time is running low, return to safety before spending more time digging on an uncertain face.
