For Finding A Garden Gnome, search the smallest field at Wistful Fields. A rubble patch conceals the gnome: dig through it with a pickaxe, then pick up the uncovered object. The clue is in a note upstairs in the nearby building.
The quest giver is Fenrig, the Farmer Assistant. The community wiki's quest entry lists two prerequisites: Beds And Shelter and Increasing Your Follower Amount And Flame Level. Check those first if the quest is missing from your available tasks.
Travel to Wistful Fields
Bring a pickaxe. A glider is useful for the approach from Low Meadows Ancient Spire, but the destination is the farm, not the tower itself.
The illustrated Wistful Fields route approaches northeast from the spire, landing on the path into the farm. Follow that path toward the main building.

Clear the enemies around the building before stopping to examine clues. That makes it easier to work out which field the note describes without interruption.
Optional: read the upstairs clue
- Go to the right side of the main building.
- Break the wooden door and enter.
- Climb the ladder to the second floor.
- Cross the gap in the floor to reach the far side.
- Read the note on the table.
A silver chest is also described upstairs, but looting it is separate from uncovering the garden gnome. The useful clue points you toward the smallest nearby field, where the gnome has been buried.
The note helps identify the field; if you already recognize it, you can go directly to the rubble patch. The objective is a specific buried decoration, not a resource dropped by the enemies around the farm.
Dig into the small field's rubble patch
Exit the building and inspect the small field nearby. Look for the patch of rubble interrupting the soil.

Stand beside the patch and mine it with your pickaxe. As the rubble breaks away, the Garden Gnome becomes visible. Stop to inspect the exposed object and collect it; merely uncovering the hole is not the same as taking the quest item.

If you have dug without finding it, recheck that you are in the smallest field, not excavating the largest cultivated area. If the gnome is visible but the objective has not finished, check that you actually picked it up.
The quest entry lists a 75 XP reward. This page covers that recovery task, rather than a complete collection route for every decorative gnome in the game.
Craft gnomes for your base
Garden gnomes also exist as craftable decorations. After the recovery task, check the Farmer's crafting menu for the decorative variants available to you. These have their own recipes; the buried quest target is not a supply of every finished variant.
The community wiki's decorations table lists these examples:
| Decoration | Materials for one | Crafting |
|---|---|---|
| Lantern Garden Gnome | 3 Shroud Wood, 3 Fire Flies, 3 Plant Fiber | Farmer; instant |
| Shovel Garden Gnome | 3 Shroud Wood, 3 Plant Fiber | Farmer; instant |
| Sword Garden Gnome | 3 Shroud Wood, 3 Plant Fiber | Farmer; instant |
The Lantern variant needs Fire Flies in addition to the wood and fiber used by the other two listed variants. Gather for the decoration you want rather than assuming all gnomes share an identical material cost.
